That lesson with Kit was quite thorough, really emphasizing detail and helping me work on specific skills. Though consistent improvement is still needed, I appreciate Kit's focus on practical aspects of pickleball and his attentive coaching style. Still, I feel like continued practice will really make a difference. If you're interested in steady progress, you might find Kit's approach worth trying out.

Kit was great to work with. Made the fundamentals very clear and really treated me ( a beginner) with a great positive attitude. I live 72 miles from Mt Juliet. I have found another instructor 20 minutes from my home and will be working with him.

Kit was great. He covered a lot in an hour. It's totally worth taking a private lesson to learn the basics.

Kit is a great coach/teacher, I had no prior knowledge of pickle ball so I had to learn everything. He is super patient teaching you all the rules and tricks to effectively play the game. It’s a lot of fun and good exercise!

As a former athlete I feel KIT did a great job of breaking down the game with sports analogies and familiar encouragement. I have already recommended him to others and everyone loves him! We appreciate you bro!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonLesson 1: Introduction to Pickleball and Paddle Control Warm-up: Dynamic stretches, paddle-only warm-up drills (e.g., bouncing ball on paddle face). Paddle Grip and Ready Position: Demonstrate and practice the continental grip and the ready stance. Forehand Fundamentals: Introduce the forehand stroke with a drop-feed drill, focusing on paddle path and contact point. Dinking: Explain and practice the dink from the non-volley zone (NVZ) line, emphasizing soft hands and control. Rules & Etiquette: Basic court boundaries, scoring introduction (e.g., 0-0-2 start), and social courtesies like introducing yourself to partners. Cool-down: Gentle stretches.
Lesson 4-10Lesson 3: Backhand Basics and 2-Bounce Rule Warm-up: Dynamic warm-up and review of forehand and dinking. Backhand Fundamentals: Introduce the backhand stroke, emphasizing the shoulder turn and stepping into the ball. Practice with drop-feed and gentle rallies. 2-Bounce Rule Explained: Clarify the importance of the ball bouncing once on each side of the court after the serve before a volley can be played. Drills: Practice backhand shots from mid-court, aiming for consistent returns. Serving & Returning Drills: Focus on getting the serve in, returning deep, and moving up to the kitchen line as a team. Mini-games: Reinforce the 2-bounce rule and focus on getting to the NVZ.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2: Mastering the Forehand and Introduction to Serves Warm-up: Review basic warm-ups, emphasizing good form. Forehand Drills: Focus on consistency and placement, using drills like hitting to targets or in small boxes. Serving Rules & Technique: Explain the serve, according to USA Pickleball it should be an underhand motion, hit below the waist, and land in the opposing diagonal service box beyond the NVZ line. Demonstrate the underhand motion and practice serving from both sides of the baseline. Serve & Return Introduction: Players serve, the receiver returns, and both try to move towards the net after the ball bounces. Mini-games: Play short games focused on getting the serve and return in, and understanding the score. Cool-down: Focus on arm and shoulder stretches.

What you need to bringI recommend that you bring water or a sports drink, tennis shoes and great attitude ready to work! I can provide paddles, balls, and nets for the lesson.

What I can bringI will provide the balls and paddles if needed for the lessons.
