Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson includes warm up exercises, serves, returns and 3rds then dive into teaching the rules of the game (basic beginner court positioning and scoring) then we play.
Lesson 11+Last class is usually fun. I play pickleball games like carnival games and give away prizes… then in group classes we play 12 mins rotating games between players.
Lesson 4-104-10 focus on lobs, how to return them. When a good time to lob is and why we don’t overuse it. Court positioning/working on volleys at net and hand eye coordination. I like to cycle through drills as a circuit or drills that focus on placement. When outside I also like to give wall drill suggestions as well.
Lesson 2-32nd and 3rd class continue working on serves, returns and 3rd shots/ drives and drops- focus on being able to transition from baseline to no volley zone. King of the court drop drive drills then game play
What you need to bringIf have a paddle students need to bring that, waterbottle is a must! Sneakers! & bring that energy (sunglasses and hat advised)
What I can bringI bring pickleballs and sometimes have a few extra paddles in case someone doesn’t have one
