Your first pickleball lesson is all about building a strong foundation! We’ll focus on the fundamentals—proper form and technique, footwork, ball control, and the basic rules of the game.
I like to break everything down step-by-step so you understand not only what to do, but why you’re doing it. We’ll keep the lesson comfortable and work at your pace, with plenty of time for questions.
Before your lesson, I’ll send you a short survey so I can learn more about your experience, goals, and what you’d like to improve. This helps me individualize future lessons specifically for you!
Lessons 2–3 are all about building on the fundamentals from your first lesson. Depending on how you’re progressing as a player, we’ll individualize each lesson and move forward at your pace.
We’ll continue working on ball control and consistency, but begin adding more pace, placement, and intention to your shots. We’ll also introduce topspin and start applying these skills to both dinking and driving the ball.
The goal is to help you become more confident, controlled, and comfortable putting the fundamentals into real-game situations.
Lessons 4–5 are where we begin advancing your drills based on how well you’re progressing. We’ll continue working on control and consistency, but start focusing more on hitting specific spots on the court.
We’ll work on shot placement, accuracy, and learning how to control where you want the ball to go. The drills will become more challenging and intentional as you continue to improve.
Lesson 11+ is where we move into a more flexible, player-focused routine. Each session will begin with what you feel you need to work on and what you specifically want to improve that day.
From there, we’ll cover all areas of your game, including drives, drops, dinks, serves, and other shots based on how you’re feeling and what will benefit you most. The sessions will also include quicker, more game-like drills to help you apply your skills under pressure and build confidence during live play.
