The lesson with Katherine was quite helpful, especially in clarifying some strategic aspects of pickleball that I wasn't fully confident about before. Though I think more practice will really help me get comfortable with the techniques covered, I appreciated her calm way of explaining things. Honestly, her approach felt straightforward and tailored without being overly intense, which is nice. Really, I found Katherine's lesson to be quite good, actually. She covered the basics in a clear way and was pretty helpful overall. Still, I think a few more detailed drills could make the lesson even more effective, but I definitely left with a better understanding of some key techniques. If you're somewhat familiar with pickleball and want a straightforward, solid lesson, Katherine's a good choice.

That was a pretty useful lesson, especially since we concentrated on serving and understanding how a 2 on 2 game works along with the point system. Still, I think I could spend more time on my lob and overhead shots, and maybe get a clearer picture of the point system when playing with three players. Katherine’s approach helps to clarify game mechanics, which makes me hopeful about future lessons.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst we will focus on building a solid foundation with proper technique and mechanics.
1. Ball-ball hand eye coordination drills
Before we pick up the paddle. we will play catch with the ball. Building muscle memory for low-high motion of the ball over the net.
2. Then we will learn ball-paddle and proper technique to dink the ball over the net. Keeping it low, front and forward over the net. This will give any beginner the confidence to now pick up the paddle and dink the ball over the net.
3. Proper paddle~ grip, position, pressure
Lesson 11+Game play and strategies to win more. More drilling with ball machine and analysis of specific shots to perfect them in game settings. Live ball competition and have fun playing. Focus on game coach and play.
Lesson 4-10Focus on drilling to build solid foundation for proper game play shots including dink, volley, block, drive, serve, return of serve and lob with use of ball machine. This allows 50% more repetition and drilling of different shots to improve your game on so many levels.

Working with teenagersTeenagers love to have fun playing Pickleball with some engaging drills. I would focus on getting them to focus on one thing at a time and drills that can be applied in game scenarios. Live balls are always fun and engaging.
What you need to bringPlease wear comfortable court shoes and plenty of water for hydration. Don’t forget your “I can do it” attitude and have some fun!
What I can bringPreparation: paddles are not required on the first lessons. I will provide demo paddles and balls during the lesson. If you’re ready to work with ball machine, the Slinger is available for drills and repetition as well.
