Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor beginners on the first lesson I focus on the basics, paddle grip, posture, footwork, and start dinking
Lesson 11+We start the warmup with dinking and speedups and drill serving, returning and 3rd shot drops followed by dinking battles. We end up with a skinny game using half the court.
Lesson 4-10Once serving, driving and dinking are more consistent and we can keep speedup battles I introduce dropping from the baseline. We end up with a drill.
Lesson 2-3I follow up on dinking, practice serving, and driving. As the student progresses I introduce speed ups
What you need to bringSunscreen and water since we live in Florida, a hat if we’re having the class outside. Tennis or pickleball shoes. And the willingness to learn and have fun.
What I can bringI have paddles, plenty of balls and a portable net. If you need a paddle I’ll provide you with one.
