About your pickleball coach
As a player for more than eight years, I enjoy teaching beginners for two local rec departments as well as through individual or small group lessons. I have a certificate in beginning instruction from PCI, am a referee and Ambassador for USA Pickleball, and the principal organizer for Metro Milwaukee Pickleball. I supply all the necessary equipment (nets, paddles, balls), so just bring a water bottle and excitement for learning the game. I promise you will quickly become addicted to a sport offering a lifetime of fun and fitness. All ages welcome, including adaptive needs -- we work at your pace. #PaddlesUp

Jim was beyond great. My wife and I were both brand new to pickleball. Jim was knowledgeable, passionate, and patient. He took extra time with us after the lesson to play with us and show us how fun the sport can be. A lot of times learning something new can be intimidating - not with Jim. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonAlways a get-to-know-you session. Some basic hitting to see grip, feel, power, aim, footwork, arm/torso use. Can assess serving, dinks, returns, forehand, backhand. Really a chance to learn where a learner is comfortable, apprehensive, and to understand their personal goals for growth. The goal is always to have FUN while learning at a pace that allows for the learner to absord and deploy instruction effectively.
Lesson 11+Continue drills on focus areas and explore adding a new tool to the player's aresenal -- topspin, lop, overhead, stacking, etc.
Lesson 4-10Layer in additional areas for improvement and add elements to those already addressed. Get a little nit-picky with some of the minor added adjustments needed to "level up" play. If the new info seems to overwhelm or cause slippage in earlier success, back up and lock that back in.
Lesson 2-3Focus on 1-2 identified areas for improvement through drills and repetition with specific feedback for improvement and real time assessment of success. Every attempt is made to isolate the mechanics that will result in fast visible boosts in confidence and outcomes.
What you need to bringAppropriate footwear for the playing surface, water bottle, eye protection, a positive attitude.
What I can bringI can supply everything for a lesson: nets, balls, paddles and other training supplies that may be used. Please let me know in advance if you will need paddle/s.
