In the first lesson, I focus on introducing the basics of pickleball: proper grip, ready position, and understanding the court and scoring system. Weโll start with simple rallying and basic strokes (forehand, backhand, dinks) to build confidence.
During these lessons, weโll reinforce the fundamentals and start adding movement, consistency, and control. Players can expect to practice serving and returning, improve their soft game at the kitchen line, and work on rallying skills as well as attacking.
Here, weโll dive deeper into strategy and shot variety. Players will learn about shot selection (drops, volleys, drives), transitioning from baseline to net, and playing both doubles and singles. Weโll introduce situational drills to prepare for real gameplay. By the tenth lesson, players can expect to play full games with confidence, apply basic strategies, and start developing their own playing style.
At this stage, lessons are tailored to the playerโs progress and goals. Weโll refine mechanics, improve consistency under pressure, and focus on advanced strategies such as stacking, third-shot decision-making, and anticipating opponentsโ shots. Players can expect to feel tourtready, competitive, and equipped with the tools to continue improving long term.
