Beginner training plan
Your first lessonBefore we begin, I aim to know as much about your general sports experience as you’re willing to share. We’ll start with a quick warm-up before diving into a lesson that builds on progress you’ve already made. Initial sessions will focus on basics: terms, rules and scoring, paddle grip, and some basic rallying to get a feel for the game.
Lesson 11+After 10 lessons, I fully expect any student of mine to be comfortable walking onto any public Pickleball court and jumping in any game! Additional lessons will continue a focus on those areas in need of improvement.
Lesson 4-10By our 4th lesson, we’ll be focusing on those areas where improvement is most needed. I have enjoyed partnering with students in challenge games to apply our progress as well.
Lesson 2-3I will propose select challenges throughout our lesson; a goal is to get each student to keep a ball in play as long as possible versus committing unforced errors in an effort to win a rally… a key obstacle in developing skills for newer players.
