My beginners program focuses on facilitating a brand new player’s entry into the game of pickleball. My goal is to take you from a brand new player to a player who people at the local park will be happy to see. While basic fundamentals will be a priority for pickleball skill development, I believe the biggest barrier for a new pickleball player are social. In addition to developing on-court skills, the program will focus on etiquette, communication and teamwork.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroduction to rules and basics of gameplay. Get an idea of baseline skills. Work on dinking fundamental mechanics without the paddle. Add in paddle and practice dunks with an emphasis on smooth, controlled movements.
Lesson 11+After a firm grasp of the basics, further training will be tailored specifically to the player’s development areas. Strengthening weak areas and exploring strategies that take advantage of our strengths.
Lesson 4-10Continue working on basic fundamentals of serves, returns, drops and dinks. Add in work on 4th shot volleys and transition zone resets.
Lesson 2-3In the next lesson, we will move from dinking at the non-volley zone line to the baseline where we will work on serves, returns and the third shot drop
Advanced training plan
Youth players
Working with kidsChildren’s lessons will be focused around developing discipline, perseverance, focus, and self-confidence in addition to fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Mini-games will be adapted and tailored to our younger students to get them ready for full-court pickleball games.
I aim to provide a fun and challenging environment where kids can push themselves to be better than they were the last lesson.
