Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe will start with stretching to make sure your body is ready to play. Then we go into paddle grips, body positioning. Then we touch on footwork for forehand and backhand shots. Then we’ll go through hitting the ball forehand and backhand at the kitchen working on dinks while we discuss the basic rules. Then onto longer shots from baseline. Then we’ll touch on serving. If there is time we’ll try a game.
Lesson 11+Now we’re at a place where the students often know exactly what they want to work on so we do that. Things like Around the horn shots, spinning the ball, dealing with lobs, and more.
Lesson 4-10We continue working on consistency while adding new shots, angles, and learning more rules. We’ll also add in practice at the kitchen to prepare for quick responses from opponents. And we will work on moving around the court and body positioning more. We’ll also play more games to add the competitive aspect and learn to let it go.
Lesson 2-3We will continue to work on the same things here to gain consistency.
