Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe'll begin by covering the basics, including the rules, scoring, and equipment needed for the game. Next, we will discuss grip, stance, and the fundamental strokes. We'll start with dinking using the "Inside Out Method," focusing on the fundamentals in the kitchen area (the non-volley zone), and then we will gradually expand our practice to the outer parts of the court.
Lesson 11+This is where we hone in on what needs work and apply to live play.
Lesson 4-10At this stage, we will become more specific in our training. The focus will be on your anticipation, court placement, shot selection, and mechanics, along with training exercises such as groundstrokes, volleys, drops, and lobs.
Lesson 2-3Once we establish the fundamentals, we will focus on developing your strokes. You will learn how to effectively use your forehand and backhand, and then we’ll progress to serving and returning. It’s essential to find the type of serve that works best for you, whether it’s a volley serve or a drop serve, and to ensure that it complies with pickleball regulations.
