Doug is passionate about pickleball and dedicated to helping players improve; has a strong emphasis on fundamentals; and has excellent communication skills - able to break down techniques into simple, easy to understand concepts, providing clear feedback.
He has been great at identifying and correcting habits that have limited my game. His patient, encouraging and clear teaching has instilled greater self confidence and has improved the strategy and techniques used in my game.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson focuses on serve, return of serve, volley, and keeping score. I teach a lot of beginner classes.
Lesson 11+Each student is different and lessons need to focus on deficiencies in their game.
Lesson 4-10Once you can hit accurate shots, the focus is on pace and placement. Drop shots, offensive lobs, and improved dinking.
Lesson 2-3Once a student can serve and return of serve, they need to learn to hit more accurate shots
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonAdvanced players have thought about where their game is deficient. Typically students offer what they think they need help with.
Lesson 11+Focus on what students see as their deficiency.
Lesson 4-10Strategy is important to master. How to move people on the court to create space. How to avoid being a victim of the same.
Lesson 2-3I can help you find and remove bad habits in your game. Common to not do well with balls at your feet, resets, blocking or third shot drop. My game utilizes a short game to be successful. Because of that I specialize in this area
Youth players
Working with kidsI teach home schooled children as a PE class. I also teach 8-12 year olds with existing lessons I have.
Working with teenagersI have taught individual teens, teens with parents, and groups of teenagers.
What you need to bringWater
A paddle if you have one.
A good attitude.
What I can bringI bring balls, paddles, net ( if needed), something to pick up balls. I assume I need everything for a lesson to proceed.
