For 34 years as a teacher and coach I have been passionate about helping students grow in their confidence and skills. Recently, as a PPR-Certified member of the pickleball coaching team at Pinewood Country Club, I have been blessed to be able to merge my gift of teaching with my passion for pickleball. In my experience, individualization and patience are essentials for maximum growth. I have had the extreme pleasure of being coached by Curtis and actually playing with him for a couple of years. He is analytic about his coaching and works in specific skills after learning an individual’s level of play. He designs drills to improve those skills and then incorporates that into our play. He has always been so positive and delightful to work with.

Curtis goes out of his way to assist and instruct pickleball players, especially new players. He is very patient and takes time to demonstrate skills. Curtis is highly competitive and very skilled as a player. He’s a good sport, a crowd favorite and very popular with the pickleball association.

Youth players
Working with kidsKids love to have fun and experience success. Making games out of skill development activities where they are active and "playing", helps kids stay focused and enjoy taking lessons.
Working with teenagersI have coached high school athletes for my entire career. It's important to help them experience success. I also focus on having them set goals within gamified drills and instruction, making mini competitions within as much of a lesson as possible.
