Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn your first lesson, Chris will discuss your goals, assess your skill level, lay out an improvement plan, and start building your fundamental skills.
Lesson 2-3We’ll hone in on the fundamental skills that need the most attention (e.g. drives, returns, volleys), do drills to improve those skills, and then play to connect those skills to real-world situations.
Lesson 4-10As your fundamental skills improve, we will transition to more advanced skills (e.g. roll volleys, flicks, more aggressive dinks), strategies, and tactics.
Lesson 11+At this point, many learners find it helpful to have real-time coaching while playing. Chris can watch you play, give real-time feedback, film gameplay, and analyze the footage with you after the match.
Youth players
Working with teenagersI enjoy working with teenagers who are excited and motivated to learn pickleball. I use positive, encouraging coaching techniques and try to make the drills fun and interactive.
