Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson will go over rules, strokes, grips, and basic strategy. The purpose of this lesson is to get familiar with how to think more like a professional player.
Lesson 11+Playing matches, drilling specific areas where improvement may be needed.
Lesson 4-10Footwork and court positioning are a huge part of pickleball, and these aspects of the game take the longest to develop. We will go over these in earlier lessons briefly, but during later lessons we will cover these more in depth.
Lesson 2-3Drills and games that will involve more specific shots, including drives, drops, dinks, serves, and overheads.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI want to get to know how you play. We can play a couple singles points, or even skinny singles so that I can get to know what are your strengths and weaknesses. We can end this practice by doing some drills to target those weaknesses.
Lesson 11+Putting it all together. Becoming the best player you can be.
Lesson 4-10Court positioning and analyzing professional gameplay. I love to watch professional pickleball, and I know of lots of points that pros play that illustrate important advanced concepts of the game.
Lesson 2-3One of the biggest things Ben John's has said about becoming better in this sport is the drills. We will continue drilling on things that can be improved, not just to practice occasionally making a good shot, but to practice making good shots the norm.
