Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst we establish what level you are truly at and how much technique you understand. I like to do this by just playing a nice friendly game with you and I analyze your level as we play/chat. This allows me to then come up with a tailored game plan for our future lessons.
Lesson 2-3Once we have that baseline established in the first lesson, I try to use the 2-3rd lesson to work on aspects of your game that seemed the weakest in the first lesson. I also use these lessons to educate my students on the technique of the basics in pickleball and why these skills matter. I just find that if students understand something and why it needs to be done, they are more willing to do the hard work to get there.
Lesson 4-10By this stage you should be starting to grasp the basics of the game and be ready to work on slightly more advanced techniques. These include: third shot drops, charging the kitchen line, cross court dinks, lobs, over head smashes etc. I try to tailor these lessons to the individual as much as possible, as certain skills come naturally to some and not to others.
Lesson 11+We will continue drilling the finer points of the game discussed in lessons 4-10 until you feel as if you're ready to move up to into the intermediate realm.
