Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor beginners I like to go over their experience with racquet sports. From there we go over how to hold the paddle, how to move towards the ball, and how to point and keep eye contact on the ball until contact. Just getting paddle to ball is the main goal. We can go over the general rules towards the end when they are ready for an intro to match play.
Lesson 11+As students become pickle-pros we will continue match play and working on weak spots (usually dinks and overheads).
Lesson 4-10We will continue to have short warmups, rule refreshers if needed, then move on to the finer points of play. We will go over better form for serving, how to hit lobs and overheads, and general strategy to better match play. As students become more familiar with the sport we can take some time to look at local tournaments and leagues they can join.
Lesson 2-3We will have a quick refresher of making contact, a warm up, a refresher of the rules, then we jump straight in to match play. I will play with them and adjust my level to make sure they have a good learning experience.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWe will talk about their playing experience and what they wish to gain from their lessons. We will hit and play a few points to get a better idea of their strengths and weaknesses.
Lesson 11+We will continue to run shot specific drills and match play where I have more advantages to challenge them further. Often I will get to hit to the full court and they have to hit to just my side. This allows for longer points and the student can focus on more than just extending the point.
Lesson 4-10We will keep working on footwork and endurance drills. We can set up targets and focus on pinpoint serving. A drill I really like to run is me rifling balls at them and their goal is to dink it back into the kitchen, absorbing the balls momentum with their paddle.
Lesson 2-3We will continue match play and specific drills to work on areas that need improvement. I like to focus on split stepping and footwork to better movement.

What you need to bringStudents need to bring a good pair of athletic shoes, water, their own paddle if they have one, and a positive mindset!

What I can bringI can provide paddles for up to four people, a pickleball specific net, and a large basket of pickleballs
