Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson will be learning the rules of the game, going over basic shots like serving, return of serve and a feel for the court.
Lesson 2-3Similar to lesson 1 with a more detailed approach with the skills learned from the previous lesson
Lesson 4-10Student should have a stronger feel for game play and the variety of shots learned in the previous lessons. These lessons will focus on advance drills such as 3rd shot drives and drops, resets, counters and strong bet play.
Lesson 11+At this stage we put all the skills and pieces together to level up.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonPlayers at this level are looking to refine certain aspects of their game through repetition. This lesson would be understanding the students weakness and work to improve that skill.
Lesson 2-3Students can request another aspect of their game they’d like to work on. We will do drills around the skill the student is looking to improve and practice those shots under pressure.
Lesson 4-10High intensity drills such as 7/11, speed ups and counters, skinny singles and aggressive dinking
Lesson 11+Similar to previous lessons with intensity. At this point player will be expert tournament level.
Youth players
Working with kidsI’m one of the coaches for Let’s Play Pickleball an organization that offers after-school programs and summer camps. This August I’ll be organizing an Advance Middle School league at 4th Ave Beach in Seattle
Working with teenagersI’ve trained numerous high school players through group and private clinics at 4th Ave Beach in Seattle.
What you need to bringPlayers should bring comfortable shoes and proper work out attire. If a student does not have a paddle I can provide a paddle for the lesson.
What I can bringI will bring quality balls, nets, cones, and other training related gear. I also have extra paddles that students can use for the lesson at any time.
