With 33 years of enchanting the keys, I am Richard—a maestro of the piano and a mentor to aspiring musicians. My musical odyssey began at a tender age of 6, fingers dancing on the ivory, crafting melodies that resonated with the very soul of music. As the years unfolded, so did my passion, and by the age of 16, I was guiding fellow enthusiasts on their own musical quests. Having graduated high school at 16, adorned with a certificate of merit for music excellence, I set forth on a journey of formal education at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, fueled by a full scholarship. The Bay Area became my stage, witnessing countless solo and ensemble performances. I embraced diverse styles, accompanying in classical, jazz, and pop performances, and even graced the sacred halls of St. Peter's at the Vatican during a choir accompaniment in Italy. Furthering my musical prowess, I pursued a master's degree in music at San Francisco State University, clinching the MTAC award for teaching and triumphing in the William Corbett-Jones Piano Competition. In 2020, I orchestrated a move to Los Angeles, stepping into the realm of studio production and film scoring, all the while continuing to enrapture audiences with solo and group performances, embracing classical, jazz, and pop. My love for music extends beyond the traditional realms. I've found immense fulfillment at the Glenn Campbell Studio, where I lead special education music therapy classes, creating harmonies that resonate deeply with students of special needs. Through each note I play and every student I teach, I strive to convey the boundless magic of music.
