Richard is a practicing musician as well as a piano teacher. This is important to me because he continues to learn therefore, he fully understands the roll of a learner. He is versatile with a wide variety of musical genre. Richard helps me by pointing out small discrete nuances that make the difference between playing the piano and playing it well. Additionally, he is willing to help students by text or phone during the week when they have questions about the music. He encourages students to compose their own music, as well. Concomitantly, he enjoys his student's and celebrates progress. I highly recommend Richard as a personable and knowledgable piano teacher.

We selected Richard to teach piano to our teenage son, Mason. He has done an amazing job. Mason could already read music since he's in choir, but he had never played an instrument. In just a few months, Mason is playing with both hands and is learning to improvise. Richard teaches him theory and the basics of different styles like rock, jazz, and classical. Mason's favorite thing about his lessons is that Richard makes them interesting. I had my doubts that Mason would stick with piano. I think he is successful because of Richard's style and personality.
