Your first lessonFirst introduce them to their keyboard and getting familiar with the basic structure of music.
Lesson 11+Reading music, chords, and scale degrees, and how to play their first song.
Lesson 4-10They will be able to play with their left and right hand independently and together, know at least 3-6 major scales, and pitch recognition
Lesson 2-3They should be able to familiarize themselves with the white keys on the keyboard and the C major scale

Working with kidsI like to focus on visuals and gamifying the experience with fun, interactive activities and using tools like flashcards and creating a language that they can understand.
Working with teenagersI try to adapt to things related to their personal responsibilities, such as using repetition to create accountability in practicing, and giving them space to be curious about culture and other genres as it incorporates into theory. I also like to teach music based on their taste in sound.
What you need to bringA keyboard or piano, of course! Bonus to have a metronome, a sustain pedal (optional or might come with piano), pencil and paper, flashcards, and willingness to learn and practice
