Working with kidsFor children under the age of 9, I use the “Phonics4Piano Pianimals” series for a good keyboard foundation. I have many supplemental activities for this curriculum, including games, worksheets, exercises, and finger strengthening equipment.
For children under the age of 6, these supplemental activities are crucial. Your child can start playing piano with me as soon as 3 years old!! I have had so many students over the years that started at a very young age, took things slow with a lot of reinforcement, and were able to perform a recital in under 6 months.
For children 9+ years old, I use the “Piano Pronto” book series, either starting with “Keyboard Kickoff” for absolute beginners or “Prelude” for older students or returning players.
Working with teenagersThe curriculum that I use for teenagers is varying depending on personal ambitions and skill level. If you are this age, you probably have an idea of why you want to take music lessons. I want to help you achieve those goals and more!!
What you need to bringIf it is your first lesson, bring nothing! If you are taking lessons for a specific goal (audition, competition, performance, etc), bring the requirements and the sheet music with you.
After your first lesson, you will be instructed on what books, sheet music, & other materials you will need for your personal curriculum.
What I can bringIf you come to my studio, I have;
-full recording and mixing equipment
-two electronic keyboards
-dual monitors for playback
-piano technique correctors
-multi genre sheet music library
-sample books
-vast library of instrumental tracks (beats) for composition
