Your first lesson For a beginner's first lesson, I start by learning about the student's background, interests, and goals so I can tailor my teaching approach to their needs. I then introduce the fundamentals of piano playing, including proper posture, bench position, hand and finger placement, and basic keyboard orientation. The lesson is designed to help the student feel comfortable at the piano while building a strong foundation for future learning.

Dana is the best piano teacher I have had! I had 2 teachers as a youngster, then 2 teachers as a college student, and these latter experiences felt very "ho-hum." I would go back to my apartment and feel lukewarm about practicing. As an adult, l've had 2 more piano teachers - the first bored me for five months with scales and drills and did not let me play any songs, and then I found Dana.
