Beginner training plan
Your first lessonDuring the first lesson, I get to know the student, assess their current musical knowledge and experience, and introduce basic piano fundamentals. Students learn proper posture, hand position, finger numbers, and basic keyboard geography. We begin with simple exercises and songs so they can start making music right away while building confidence and comfort at the piano.
Lesson 2-3During the next few lessons, students reinforce proper technique while learning basic note reading, rhythm, and musical symbols. We continue building familiarity with the keyboard through exercises, games, and beginner pieces. Lessons are tailored to the student’s pace to ensure they develop a strong foundation without feeling overwhelmed.
Lesson 4-10As students become more comfortable, we expand their note-reading abilities, rhythm skills, and technical development. Students learn new songs, practice coordination between both hands, and begin developing musical expression. I also incorporate creativity, ear training, and improvisation activities to keep lessons engaging while strengthening overall musicianship.
Lesson 11+After students have established the fundamentals, lessons become increasingly individualized based on their goals and interests. We continue advancing technique, music theory, sight-reading, and repertoire while exploring different musical styles. Students are encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and creativity as they progress toward becoming well-rounded musicians.
