Your first classGetting to know where you are at and what your goals are, and covering the basics (MIDI, plugins, channel rack if applicable, samples). Practice creating something.
Class 2-3Musical layering—adding multiple layers together to create a more fleshed-out idea, and beginning to work with the mixer and effects.
Class 4-10Working on adding and applying new skills and tools, such as basic sound design, automation, using effects to achieve a specific sound or mood, etc. Regular creation.
Class 11+Continuing to add and practice more advanced production techniques, such as mixing, mastering, sidechain compression, vocoders, and whatever the student may be interested in working on. Also focus on finding inspiration and bringing ideas to life in a way that feels fulfilling.
