Your first lessonI like to get to know them, see what types of issues they are having with math, and help from there. If it is a more consistent problem of helping through the year or for a big test, I still like to know what they struggle with to start there.
Lesson 2-3More in depth problems, help identifying weak points and reinforcing those to help build the foundations up.
Lesson 4-10More specific lessons to the curriculum and type of problems that WILL come in the future. For a structured testing preparation, I’d hone in on some problems from each section of the exams
Lesson 11+More timed help and giving student more free rein to solve with my guidance to give them a sense of “I can do this, I know I have options!”
What you need to bringBringing problems, knowing the subject and prerequisites, and what type of issues you’re having will help greatly
What I can bringI will bring pens pencils and paper as much as I can to help assist, and if we need, I still have resources (both digital and paper books) to provide more problems and insight if need be!
