Lesson 2-3We will review & confirm what we covered in our first sessions, & then proceed to the next appropriate chord group.🎶
Lesson 4-10At this point you will be comfortable enough with several left hand chord positions as well as 3 or so right hand patterns to play a dozen songs!
We will fine tune these as we go along, & you will start identifying the nuances that help you to choose which keys you are the most confident in - & why!🎵🎵
Lesson 11+You will have quite a varied repertoire by now, & are yearning to learn even more!
We have been & will continue to apply musical theory as it relates to our instrument.
You may consider trying out a new instrument - who knows?!?😃 🪕🎻🎸
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonLet’s find out just what you hope to accomplish in the time we have together, & discuss your musical history & achievements so far.
We will then begin with some technique exercises to fine tune what you know & get you on track for reaching your goals!
Lesson 2-3Review of our previous week’s work, followed by adding appropriate assignments of drills & musical pieces, rhythmical exercises & analysis
Lesson 4-10Improvement assessment & reevaluation of constantly evolving goals
Lesson 11+Musical achievement is a never ending journey that I will guide you through

Working with teenagersBoth male & female teenagers are some of the best possible students, as they are open to & capable of learning new things unlike any other age group!
What you need to bringYour in home Music Studio should contain:
The student must have own instrument & be willing to purchase necessary tools as recommended at their first lesson for their instrument & playing level, such as music stand, tuner, metronome, picks, book, strap, etc. at a local music store or online.
What I can bringI will be providing a comfortable studio setting, including chairs, music & instrument stands, tuner, metronome & audio tools to listen to & transcribe music that we might be listening to in a lesson.

Lynn is an excellent teacher. I appreciate her knowledge and that she is a stickler for making sure I learn the basics that will help me as I progress. The time I have to practice is limited but she makes me want to sit down and spend a few minutes whenever I can. I wish I could take lessons from her in person as I do struggle with the online format. There is a delay and also the sound cuts out at times, but I am enjoying them regardless because she is helping me make progress. I also almost feel some kind of dyslexia because I find it so difficult to follow where her fingers are on the fretboard. Being an older learner has its challenges but I am determined to learn as much as possible and I appreciate Lynn's patience with me!

Lynn gets down to basics from the get-go. Starting with tuning and the correct way to hold the banjo, she progresses to proper finger positions and chord structure from fret to fret. By the way, she's also very personable, and seems to enjoy a laugh from time to time.

Just had my first lesson on learning to play the Banjo. Lynn appears to be the perfect teacher for me. I found Lynn after attempting a few other places. Those folks were interested in helping me learn the banjo - to a point. They were nice enough but I knew I wanted to get further than they were willing to assist. When I met Lynn I quickly learned that she was ready and willing to help a new banjo student. She made it clear that she expected practice and that dediion was the key, and she makes it clear in our lessons, too. She is professional but has a sense of humor (and patience) that helps when things get frustrating (or when I am frustrating). I'm very glad I found her and I intend to learn a lot from her.
