Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst, the main focus will be skating, and understanding of edge work. I will help get beginners comfortable on the ice, and confident in the first skills necessary to develop. This lays the foundation for the further development of any player.
Lesson 2-3As development progresses, we will still continue to build the foundation for hockey by working on skating, and we will begin to progress comfortability and skill through personalized drills based on one’s skill set and development.
Lesson 4-10As confidence in skating is gained, we will begin to introduce more fundamentals of the game, such as stickhandling, and other hockey situations. This will be personalized for the individual based on what I have seen from the first few lessons.
Lesson 11+As lessons progress with the client, I will continue to develop them in areas that they need, and continue to strengthen those that are already strong. There will be more advanced skill sessions introduced, based on ones areas that need improvement, and those that can continue to be strengthened. As a beginner gains comfortability on the ice, we can begin working on things such as stickhandling and shooting, passing, edge work, and a combination of all of those in several drills.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWhen it comes to teaching advanced players, I have a background in this as I am also an advanced player. I know how to personalize advanced lesson plans for players based on their skills and weaknesses, and the first lessons would involve exposing these strengths and weaknesses. I will begin with general drills that are advanced, where I can learn what area a player may lack in, and what areas are strong.
