I start by evaluating the skater’s balance, comfort level, posture, edges, stopping, and forward stride. We focus on safety, confidence, and a few basic skills so I can build future lessons around what they actually need.
We build on the basics with stronger balance, forward stride, stopping, turns, and basic edge control. I introduce new skills gradually while correcting technique and helping the skater become more comfortable moving independently.
We begin developing more efficient skating through crossovers, transitions, backward skating, tighter turns, acceleration, and more advanced edge work. Each lesson combines repetition with new challenges based on the skater’s progress
Lessons become more individualized around the skater’s goals. We continue improving speed, power, edge control, agility, transitions, and overall skating efficiency while correcting habits and introducing more advanced skills as the skater is ready.
