My daughter was very young (9 years old) when she approached us to take guitar lessons. Many teachers were skeptical to work with her because of her age but she exhibited maturity beyond her years when it came to trying new things. We were very lucky to find Scott Reichard who was willing to work with our daughter. Scott is very patient, super encouraging and able to adapt to his students learning style and skill level. He has a unique teaching style but he knows how to teach in a way that keeps his students interested with songs they enjoy while still teaching basic chords and musical theory. Concerts were organized through the school where he taught and Scott made sure his students were prepared and excited to perform. My daughter has just completed her first year of college and although she no longer takes lessons (life got in the way) she still pulls out her guitar regularly and can play just as effortlessly as she did when she was taking lessons. We owe her love of playing and her ability to keep learning new songs to Scott. He is an awesome teacher and we highly recommend him for all!

"Scott started teaching my daughter guitar when she was just 7 years old. He was always so patient with her, which hadn't been the case with other music instructors we had worked with. He paid attention to her interests and to the genres of music she liked, and he helped her learn to play songs that she was excited about; she thought it was so cool when she learned how to play the theme to Harry Potter! When certain techniques were challenging for her, he did a wonderful job of explaining them and (when needed), taking a different approach to help her master them. I was always impressed with how someone with so much musical talent could simplify things in a way that a child could understand them. I highly recommend Scott as an instructor for anyone who wants a kind, patient, and very skilled teacher who can adapt to different learning styles and musical genres to help anyone not only learn to play guitar with confidence, but also to foster their love of music."-Karen J.

"Scott has been invaluable to Lucas as he has learned to play the guitar. He has taught Lucas music theory, in addition to the skills associated with guitar playing. Scott has put Lucas at the center of his own learning by letting him choose his own songs to play, but then also challenging him with new songs that are related to the theory they discuss and/or Lucas' current musical interests. As parents, we have appreciated Scott's flexibility in scheduling make-up sessions when Lucas has had to miss a lesson. We also appreciated his ability to effectively teach Lucas both online and in-person." -Kayley Hennessy

Scott was my son’s first guitar teacher. He started in group lessons, then online individual lessons (during the pandemic), and finally in-person lessons. Throughout those years, Scott helped him to learn what he wanted to do while challenging him to push a bit harder and introducing him to new music and music theory. He wasn’t afraid to call my son out when he didn’t practice. My son says that of all his guitar teachers, Scott was the best at helping him to learn how to play songs. Scott also gave me feedback when I wanted to surprise my son with a new guitar.

Scott is an excellent guitar teacher and piano teacher and I would highly recommend him! His passion for music and patience in teaching was a big reason as to why we chose him for private lessons. He knew how to keep the lessons interesting and fun, introduced variety, and was good about pushing and challenging the kids to practice and always keep improving. I think working with him set a good musical foundation and to this day (~4 years later) , both my kids are still very enthusiastic about their instruments!

Scott is not only an amazing guitarrist, but an amazing teacher. He always keeps things very light, personal, and funny while teaching me. I always walk away from my lessons with him satisfied, feeling good, and always knowing a lot more than I had before. Scott is always very flexible, allowing me to learn any songs that I want, teaching me music theory, and whatever other weird requests I may have. He has never failed to teach me something new and I always have so much fun in every lesson!
