Discovering the guitar later in life ignited a passion for music that has only grown stronger with time. From taking my first guitar lesson at the age of 44 to co-founding a Bluegrass/Americana band and writing original music, my musical journey has been one of continuous growth and exploration. Since 2018, I've had the privilege of serving as a volunteer instructor for the Cincinnati, Ohio Chapter of Guitars 4 Vets, where I've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of music. Alongside my own musical pursuits, I've expanded my skills by delving into the bass guitar and music theory. As a dedicated instructor, I find immense joy in helping adults of all ages unlock their musical potential and cultivate a lifelong love for playing the guitar, one song at a time.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI begin by learning something about my students, especially what their favorite song is….then we can get started.
Learning to play the songs we love makes the work so much more fun!
Lesson 11+Here we refine our foundation, and begin to add some depth; going into strumming patterns, barre chords, etc.
Lesson 4-10We’ll refine chord transitions, and begin playing with rhythm.
Lesson 2-3Once we have “The Song”, it’s time to learn chord shapes, and chord progressions for their song.
Advanced training plan
What you need to bringComfortable clothing, a phone or audio recording device (totally optional, but helpful!), and/or a notebook, and a love of music!
What I can bringAt our lesson space, I have an acoustic and electric guitar to use during our in person lessons, a music stand, and comfortable, armless chairs.
