Pascual has taught me since I am 5 years old, he has always been patient, professional and kind. He is so knowledgeable of classical guitar snd had a wonderful ability to teach me not only technique but the heart behind the music. His love of guitar is infectious and his lessons were always enjoyable. He has a wonderful personality to teach kids and I am sure adults alike.

I have been a student of Pascual Araujo for some months. Within that time he was able to significantly improve my foundation of rhythm, technique, and musical notation for guitar. He has proven to be a competent and enjoyable instructor. I would recommend him as a teacher to anyone interested in furthering their musical ability.

There aren’t enough positive things to say about Pascual. His approach is intuitive, gentle and thorough. I especially like how patient he is and his ability to assist working through challenging tasks with you. Learning music is fun when he plays it with you.

Pascual is a great guitar instructor. He taught me the importance of technique through the element of rhythm. He makes all the hard stuff understandable and digestible. If you are looking to improve your musicianship, Pascual is the person to go learn from!

Pascual is an excellent guitar instructor. My goal was to learn “Roundabout” by the band Yes and Pascual helped me reach my goal. With guided instruction and efficient technique practice I was able to play the song I love so much!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson will be learning the different part s of the guitar, labeling left and right hands and learning basic finger techniques on both hands to start building a solid playing foundation.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11 onwards will focus on compounding techniques, musical vocabulary and learning short songs/pieces to reinforce said techniques/skills.
If student did choose to start reading musical notation, their understanding of symbols and vocabulary will deepen to better understand musical notation for guitar.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 will build on a rhythmic foundation while learning a variety of open chords on the guitar. As well as understanding and applying subtle hand techniques that will make playing easier.
Student also has the choice to start reading musical notation for guitar, but is not necessary if the student only wants to play.
Lesson 2-3The second lesson will be learning about rhythm and note values. Also, distinguishing the difference beat/pulse and rhythm by taking the basic finger techniques learned in previous lesson.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson would be to evaluate how far along the student is in their understanding of hand mechanics, music notation reading and music theory knowledge. Setting a plan for the advanced student to build on their desired goals.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11 onwards could be very open in regards to the songs/pieces that students want to play. As well as learning extended techniques like playing harmonics on guitar. Basically taking concepts and techniques as far as the student can understand.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 would be deepening understanding of left and right hand movements to achieve the sound desired from the guitar. Working with a metronome so student develop a strong sense of pulse.
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2-3 would be to start the plan in motion regarding their desired goal. Appropriate scales, hand techniques and techniques for reading musical notation for guitar.
Youth players
Working with kidsI adapt my lesson for kids by first making sure that they have the appropriate size guitar. Younger students from ages 5-8 should purchase a 1/2 or 3/4 size guitar.
Second, I will demonstrate solid mechanical movements to young students that they can copy to start developing their hand mechanics for the guitar.
Working with teenagersFor older students ages 12-19 and onwards I will first see how developed their hand mechanics are and start working with them where they are at in their physical development in the hands.
An appropriate size guitar will be ok for older students.
What you need to bringBring yourself and a notebook with a pencil for important musical information.
What I can bringIf potential students can make it to my teaching studio I can provide an extra nylon string guitar to students. As well as a piano if needed.
