I have been studying with Jan for over a year now. I started out as a pure beginner. We started out with various exercises and techniques to help me understand the fundamentals and even help me truly understand if I wanted to continue. His advice, guidance and skills helped me to find the fun in learning. I am far from being a professional but Jan has helped me see how I can use guitar to help me relax and enjoy creating music. He works with me as an individual tailoring my lessons to what I can do but also challenges me to do my best.

I have been trying to play classical guitar since I was a college student in the seventies. I have tried other instructors as well as online courses. Nothing has enabled me to feel confident, so I paused my seeking of a competent instructor who really gets me. I’ve never played an instrument or had a music lesson. At 74 years old I decided I wanted to play the guitar. I Googled Jan he breaks music down so that I understood melody, harmony and rhythm. He is very patient and answers all of my questions. He not only teaches guitar playing but he also composes music. I’ve recommended him to friends who are accomplished musicians and they have been very impressed.
