Our first lesson will be all about me learning about you; what you already know about guitar (if you don’t know anything that is perfectly fine!) what you want to accomplish on the guitar, what kind of music you would like to play, your learning style and anything else you would like to share.
After 10 lessons (if you have been practicing!) we will begin to understand the notes on the fret board and a bit more about music theory. We will continue to develop speed and technique and you’ll learn more complex chords, progressions, and riffs. You’ll have the basic knowledge to learn some songs on your own and begin to experiment with creating your own original chord progressions and melodies. We might begin to discuss music philosophy a little and you will be much closer to holding your own in any jam sesh.
From here we will try learning a few basic chords/ riffs, very basic music theory, strumming patterns and other techniques. I will teach you drills and exercises you can do @ home to improve your playing. We will start learning simple songs you can play in their entirety.
Our first couple of lessons after we have met will depend a lot on what we go over in lesson 1. If you already know some things about guitar you won’t have to learn what you already know.
If you think guitars are magic or from outerspace then we we start with the most basic of information. The different parts of the guitar, what standard tuning is and how to tune your guitar, how to hold it, posture, plucking open strings, and maybe trying to play a few notes at random.
