Your first lessonIn your first lesson, we’ll cover the fundamentals to set you up for success:
• How to properly hold the guitar and pick.
• Correct positioning for your fret hand.
• An introduction to the major scale, starting with playing it horizontally on a single string.
Lesson 11+Advanced Techniques & Personalization
Now, the fun really begins! These lessons are tailored to your interests and goals:
• Explore your favorite styles or genres of music.
• Learn advanced techniques like improvisation, navigating the fretboard fluently, and mastering triads, arpeggios, and scales.
• Develop the ability to play by ear, quickly identify chord changes, and learn songs on the fly.
• Dive deeper into music theory as it applies to the guitar, giving you the tools to create and innovate.
These lessons are designed to make you a well-rounded player, capable of expressing yourself in any style or genre you choose.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10: Developing Your Skills
Here’s where we start turning the basics into real music:
• Mastery of major and minor scales and their role in creating melodies and chords.
• The number system and how to build chords (root, 3rd, flat 3rd for minor, 5th).
• Playing basic songs and simple chord progressions to reinforce your learning.
• Introduction to triads, different chord voicings, and beginner 7th, dominant 7th, and diminished chords.
• Incorporating ear training to recognize chord changes and progressions.
• Refining technique to sync your right and left hands seamlessly.
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2-3: Laying the Foundation
Now that you’re comfortable with the basics, we’ll dive deeper into:
• Understanding the major scale and the number system (essential for building chords).
• Playing the major scale across multiple strings.
• Introduction to your first major and minor chords, learning how they’re structured.
