Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst I try to understand the goal of what the student is trying to achieve. Then I assess what other sports or physical activity the student is into. Next it’s a look at the equipment and if anything can be changed there. Then a few swings and a few drills to take home.
Lesson 11+Here I want to build on some strengths and target some weaknesses. Then build a solid baseline for the student to use going forward that will give them consistent results.
Lesson 4-10These should be after a few sessions on their own, the client needs to let me know where they need the most improvement and I will address those areas
Lesson 2-3These next two are seeing what fundamentals we can instill and see how the drills from the last lesson was going.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonAssess the current status of their game and where to improve. I want the first lesson with an advanced player to be strictly discovery and some potential assessment.
Lesson 11+Some on course information would be ideal here. Going out and seeing where the mind is throughout the round will really be key to improving.
Lesson 4-10In these, I want to either address a large weakness or focus on a large strength. Typically I want to see where the student has the most fun.
Lesson 2-3I want to discover what it’s like practice wise and on course. These need to be aligned but still understand that they are separate things to work on
