Beginner training plan
Your first lessonStart with an introduction to golf basics: grip, stance, and posture. Use the âTwo-Knuckle Gripâ drill to ensure a proper hold (aim for seeing two knuckles on the left hand). Practice a simple pendulum swing with a 7-iron, focusing on smooth motion. End with a fun putting exercise on a flat surface to build confidence.
Lesson 2-3Build on the first lesson by introducing the full swing with a 7-iron, incorporating the âAlignment Stick Drillâ to check body alignment. Introduce chipping with a wedge, using the âPitch and Stopâ drill to control distance. Expect to refine grip and stance while adding basic course etiquette.
Lesson 4-10Progress to different clubs (e.g., driver, irons), focusing on the âHalf-Swing Drillâ to improve consistency. Introduce bunker play with the âSplash Shot Drillâ and start short-game practice (e.g., pitching). Expect to develop a basic swing routine, play a few holes, and receive feedback on pace and strategy.
