Michael was a great instructor! I went through a 4 lesson beginner package with him, having never played golf before. I was invited on a golf trip, and took these lessons going into it. I didn’t have wild expectations of being great, I just wanted to hold my own with friends. I ended up exceeding my personal expectations and the group was surprised that it was my first time playing. Michael’s process of building the swing from small to large built good fundamentals that I was able to rely on when I was on the course playing! I’m very excited to continue to pick up the sport and will be returning for lessons to bring my game to the next level!

I simply cannot rave enough about Lortan Golf! He is the best golf coach you can ever ask for. He is very methodical, systematic, and knowledgeable. The flow of his lessons are so that you can easily grasp the game of golf; he starts from the basics, and then slowly work to improve your golf swings. I was a complete beginner when I started and over three lesson my swings improved dramatically. I could actually putt, chip, and pitch. I still have some ways to go, but I am so grateful to Michael for helping me improve my game.

I use to be a 9.9 handicap, I went to Mr Lortan because I started to struggle breaking 90. I watched a lot of golf lessons on YouTube and it just made me worse. Mr Lortan is an awesome instructor, I’m more of an advanced golfer and he was incredible at explaining to me the reasons he was making some changes in my setup and takeaway, he spends time talking to you about what he’s trying to do; it’s a back and forth conversation. I’ll continue to work with him because he’s great!

"Absolutely the best coaching experience I've had! I learned more than I could have hoped. How it works

Beginner training plan

Your first lessonThe first lesson covers the fundamentals of the putting set up. This is followed by the elements that make up a good putting stroke, but also serves as a foundation for the following lessons.

Lesson 11+Regular bi-monthly or monthly assessments to ensure that the swing is progressing effectively.

Lesson 4-10After a brief review of lesson three, lesson four increases the size of the stroke in progressive movements until we reach the full swing. The following lessons refine the learning of the full swing, making it or repeatable and more efficient. Student is also introduced to the longer irons, the hybrids, woods, and driver.

Lesson 2-3Lesson two starts with a review of lesson one, then goes on to explain the fundamentals of the short game. The focus for this lesson is the chipping stroke. Again, lesson three starts with a review of lesson two, and then moves on to the pitching stroke, and the more complex movements that make up the stroke.
