I’ve taken golf lessons from another instructor before, but they don’t compare to Matt when it comes to truly understanding and teaching the game. His knowledge, combined with clear teaching, makes a huge difference. I saw improvements soon after starting with him! His approach is very personalized and tailored to one’s needs/skill level. On top of that, Matt’s genuinely a nice person, which makes every session enjoyable. I’d highly recommend him to anyone serious about getting better at golf! Couldn’t be happy with the experience!

Coach Snyder is an excellent coach. He is very thorough, but simple and straight forward. I’ve had two lessons from him and I’m already seeing improvement. You have to have patience and discipline, but with the lessons and the tips he gives you, you’ll be able to see improvements. I would recommend Coach Snyder, especially if you’re just starting.

How it works
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lessons can be nerve wracking for beginner golfers, but let me assure you, I’m here to help….not judge. In your first lesson we’ll go over the basics of setup and the basic full swing. If there are any other areas you’d like to cover (short game or putting for example) we can cover those as well.
Lesson 11+Continued refinement will always take place as we move forward.
Lesson 4-10At this point you should have a good grasp of the full-swing, though we will continue to work on the fundamentals. We’ll also start adding in other parts of the game, putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker play, as well as strategies on how to play the game.
Lesson 2-3In the second and third lessons we will build on the first lesson. First, we’ll hit some balls and go over any questions you may have since the first lesson. From there we’ll continue to hone in on areas you may be struggling with and hopefully build on them.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFor advanced players, we’ll do a lot of talking about your game and what you’re wanting to accomplish. We’ll look at some launch monitor data, as well as go over some video in detail to look for opportunities to improve.
Lesson 11+The long term goal is to continue to understand where you can improve by understanding on course play, where you are struggling, and creating practice activities to help you make those weaknesses, strengths.
Lesson 4-10Continued refinement. This could look like talking about playing strategy. Could be talking about equipment or adding speed. Each student is different.
Lesson 2-3After the first lesson I will want to know what part of your game you excel at and where your weaknesses lie. If you have stats for your game, even better, if not, well do some basic assessments to understand where you could improve your base level of playing ability.
Youth players
Working with teenagersDepends on the goals of the junior, but in general I try to get them to laugh and relax so we can actually do some learning. While we will spend time on swing mechanics, we’ll also talk about playing the game and enjoying it.
What you need to bringIf you are in need of clubs, you’ll need to choose my Five Iron location. This location has clubs that can be used for those without.
What I can bringFor lessons at Five Iron we have high speed cameras and Trackman 4. For lessons at Tee24, we have the IDRA II launch monitor and video capabilities. For lessons at Different Strokes, we will not have any technology to utilize, but will utilize video for improvement.
