Beginner training plan
Your first lessonAssess current swing. Take videos of student’s natural swing. Discuss game-plan, ask student for goals, and formulate strategic approach suited to the individual.
Lesson 11+Start refining the changes made in lessons 1-10 and establishing a way to measure progress. Begin looking at other areas of the game (i.e. mental, course management, short game, putting, etc.) and ascertaining new goals and area(s) of possible improvement. The goal of the lessons is to preserve the organic swing of the student while simultaneously making incremental improvements on key fundamentals. My goal is NEVER to change everything and alter the student’s swing-only to build upon what is natural in a manner that delivers positive results, and ultimately greater enjoyment from the game!
Lesson 4-10Begin seeing improvement, take more videos of swing, give feedback, and set new goals based of off progress made thus far
Lesson 2-3Begin implementing changes on the fundamental aspects of executing a shot (balance, grip, posture, alignment, tempo, etc) Encourage student, keep things simple, and ensure that reasonable practice addressing these simple fundamentals will result in positive change.
