Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThis will be a basic driving range session to get to know you and your goals with golf. I usually start with the fundamentals first and slowly work up from there. Things usually covered in the first lesson include the following
- Grip
- Stance
- Alignment
- Ball Position
Lesson 11+Lesson 11 - Your first test where you play 9 holes. By this time you will be comfortable and confident enough in your abilities to take it on the course!
Lesson 12-19 - If you have booked lessons to this point we will look at what you struggled with on the 9 holes and create a new lesson structure from there. And you are officially an Intermediate Golfer!
Lesson 20 - The true test of an 18 Hole Golf Round keeping track of your full round score!
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4 - Now that you have the fundamentals we will work on practicing all of the different clubs. In this lesson I explain what all of the different clubs do and where they should be used at. Lesson will start with the wedges and end with the woods and driver.
Lesson 5 - after lesson 4 we should have a good idea of which clubs you are strong with and which ones you need to work on. In my decade of teaching most students struggle with the long irons, woods, and then driver since they require slightly different stances to hit consistently. This lesson will mainly focus on those clubs
Lesson 6 - We will start this lesson with the clubs you struggle with again and then make small adjustments if you still still struggle with them. If you feel comfortable enough with them I will introduce the process for the proper downswing. I’ll give you great drills you can do on your own to really hammer this in
Lessons 7 - This will be the final driving range session. The first 30 minutes we will test and review all of these aforementioned fundamentals. And the last 30 minutes will be to combine them all
Lesson 8-9 - These two lessons will be your first introduction to the short game. Specifically chipping and pitching short shots around the green. Lesson 8 will be an overview and practice. Lesson 9 we will put it into real course practice situations such as bunker shots, flop shots, and shots from thick grass.
Lesson 10 - Will be a putting lesson from all different green locations to put yourself in on course situations. These could be long putts, downhill slopes putts, and short ones within 5 feet.
