Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe very first lesson is all about fun, confidence, and removing fear of the golf ball. We spend zero time on the range hitting drivers. Instead, we start with: A 5-minute “get to know you” chat (goals, past sports, any worries) Grip, stance, and posture using my simple “Ready Position Checklist” (takes 10 minutes and feels like a win immediately) Short, soft chips and pitches with a wedge around the practice green (most students are shocked at how quickly they can make clean contact) Finish with a few 20–30 yard shots and a mini putting By the end of 60 minutes, every beginner has hit good shots, laughed a lot, and left thinking, “I can actually do this.” That positive first experience is everything.
Lesson 2-3What we cover in the second 60-minute lesson (and why students love it) By Lesson 2, the nerves are gone and the excitement is high because they’ve already hit a few good shots in Lesson 1. Now we turn those accidental good shots into repeatable, on-purpose good shots. Exact flow of Lesson 2: Quick warm-up (5 min) Recap grip & posture checklist 10 soft chips to a hula hoop – instant confidence boost The #1 reason beginners hit it fat or thin (10 min) I show them (with an alignment stick on the ground) how most new players sway or slide instead of turning Introduce the simple “Turn, Don’t Sway” feel using the Feet-Together Drill Clean Contact Drill Progression (25 min) Feet-together 7-iron half swings (teaches balance & center-faced contact) Pump Drill (3 pumps, then swing – builds perfect sequencing) Impact Bag or foam noodle drill (immediate feedback for crisp strike) Students are usually giggling by this point because the ball is suddenly flying straight and solid every single time. Distance Control Wedges (15 min) 3 clock-face swings with pitching wedge (9 o’clock, 10 o’clock, and full) Land balls in 10-yard zones – they’re stunned how quickly they can control distance Finish with a game (5 min) “Closest in 5 shots” from 40 yards wins a sleeve of balls (Everyone leaves on a high note) Take-home practice (only 15–20 min, 3x per week): Feet-Together Drill × 20 balls Clock-Face Wedge Ladder (9-10-full swings) One putting Gate Drill for speed By the end of Lesson 2, every beginner says the same thing: “I’ve never hit the ball this solidly in my life — and I’ve only had two lessons!”

David White is the real deal. In just six lessons he turned my ugly slice into a repeatable draw, added 25 yards to my driver, and taught me how to actually practice instead of just beating balls. Clear, patient, and zero ego. My handicap has dropped from 22 to 14 this season and I’m having more fun than ever. Best instructor I’ve ever had—hands down.” — Sarah K., Palm Beach Gardens
Alex
David White fixed my game in one hour — seriously. I came in with a nasty over-the-top move that killed my irons. He spotted it in two swings, gave me one feel and one drill, and I started flushing it immediately. No jargon, no band-aids, just permanent change. I’ve taken lessons from PGA pros all over Florida and nobody comes close to David’s clarity and results. Worth every penny and the drive from Miami.” — Alex M., 6-handicap, Coral Gables
Tom
Best decision I ever made was signing my 14-year-old son up with David White. In one season he went from quitting mid-round out of frustration to winning his high-school JV matches and making varsity as a freshman. David teaches juniors like pros: tough on fundamentals, big on confidence, and keeps it fun. My son actually asks to practice now. David’s the reason he loves the game.” — Tom H., Father of Ryan H., Jupiter High School Golf Team
Robert
David White is simply outstanding. I’m a 68-year-old beginner who thought golf was too late for me. After 10 lessons with David I’m hitting crisp irons, getting out of bunkers on the first try, and actually keeping score in the 90s. He’s patient, encouraging, and makes every minute count. Golf is now the highlight of my week—thank you, David!” — Robert T., Retired, North Palm Beach

I honestly can’t recommend David White highly enough — he completely changed my relationship with golf. When I started lessons with David two years ago, I was a classic 30+ handicap hacker who topped the ball more than I hit it clean, had a wicked slice, and was terrified of anything inside 100 yards. I figured I’d just take a few lessons to “not embarrass myself” in front of friends.
