Greetings. I hail from the midwest, originally from Detroit and raised in Milwaukee. I attended the University of Wisconsin as a communication and music major. I've worn numerous hats in life: sportscaster, franchise owner, marketing professional, jazz musician and now a Master teaching golf professional. A lifelong athlete (baseball and hoops), I started playing golf in my late 20's. I developed a passion and love of the game studying it and achieving success over time. Taking a chance on myself, I pursued teaching in my 50's. It was the best decision of my life. Having learned the hard way (pre-YouTube era and as my own coach), my goal is to teach you the best fundamentals and cut your learning curve way down so YOU can enjoy this game sooner than later! I have lived in Northern California since 1995 and am the proud father of a son, step-dad to two great kids and now grandfather to a beautiful boy born in 2023. I have been with my wife since 2005 and without her love and encouragement, none of this would be possible. Plus she'd kill me if I didn't mention my love for her 😉 We are the proud parents of Lola the "Bugg" (Pug/Boston Terrier) and Coco the pug 🙂 I look forward to having the chance to work with you in the near future. Started seeing Dan over the summer. He uses video and compares it to professionals to help illustrate inefficiencies in your swing and then suggests minor tweaks to optimize distance and consistency. He's an attentive instructor who takes the player's goals into consideration before making suggestions. Went from high single digit HC to low single digit HC since working with Dan. Would recommend him for golfers of any ability level or experience.

Dan Chicorel is a fantastic teacher. I am very new to golf and required lessons on all the fundamentals. Dan educated me on the basics of golf technique like grip, posture, addressing the ball, as well as golf rules and etiquette. I still have a long way to go, but Dan's lessons have prepared me to at least keep up with my friends.

Dan has been coaching my 9 year old son since summer. He is an affable and effective coach for my son. Although my son was not an absolute beginner Dan has definitely brought consistency and accuracy to his swing.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonDuring the first lesson I always review/discuss proper grip, grip posture, grip pressure and an overview of how the swing is supposed to work often times comparing it to other sporting activities.
Lesson 11+Tweaking past instructional feedback.
Lesson 4-10This is where we start fine tuning the repetitive aspects of the swing to ensure the student has a clear understanding of the proper sequencing of the golf swing. We could potentially cover a variety of remaining issues, it all depends on the golfers skill level and practice regimen.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2-3 we'll often review what we discussed in lesson 1 or pickup at what wasn't covered. Each lesson often includes at least 1-2 at home drills the student can do as well.
Advanced training plan
Youth players
Working with kidsI enjoy working with Young kids. I try to make the experience fun so they associate good feelings while learning the game. I teach each summer at a Nike camp for kids so I have a lot of experience working with young kids.
Working with teenagerswith young kids I enjoy working with teenagers. I find that they’re a little more able to understand golfing concepts, and similar to working with young kids. I try to make the experience fun. I’ve had good success in teaching both kids and teenagers the game of golf.
What you need to bringA club (typically a wedge thru 7 iron, but just a few clubs unless we're practicing short game technique).
What I can bringI supply training aids to help the golfer with all aspects of the swing. First and foremost is the use of video to learn about your swing.
