Your first lesson1. Welcome & Introduction (5 min) • Greet the student and get to know their golf experience and goals. • Briefly explain what you’ll cover: grip, stance, posture, swing basics, and fun! 2. Safety & Equipment Overview (5 min) • Show how to handle a club safely. • Quick rundown of different clubs: driver, irons, putter. • Demonstrate how to stand when others are swinging. 3. Grip, Stance & Posture (10 min) • Grip: Demonstrate the basic grip (interlock, overlap, or 10-finger—let them try all). • Stance: Feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent. • Posture: Bend from the hips, straight back, arms hanging naturally. Tip: Use alignment sticks or clubs to help them visualize stance and ball position. 4. Half Swing with a Short Iron (15 min) • Start with a 9-iron or pitching wedge. • Focus on tempo and contact, not power. • Practice half swings to build confidence and coordination. • Provide feedback on balance and swing path. Drill: Place a tee in the ground (no ball) and have them brush the top of it with their swing for contact practice. 5.
