Beginner training plan
Your first lessonStart with the grip and work down to the ball position. Then start the swing mechanics of your 7 iron and driver. That will cover first lesson minimum.
Lesson 11+At this point we will have you beginning to strike the ball crisply. (Depends on your effort entirely.) if we do not we will backtrack and see where your deficient spots are coming from. (This game takes a dedication to get better. And it’s frustrating but so rewarding. ) moving forward our progress will be different with each beginning student depending upon their individual progress
Lesson 4-10Lesson four begins with hand position with 7i at impact. Drills to teach proper ball compression techniques. And will include driver aspects as well. After 6 lessons we will include the putting stroke as well.
Lesson 2-3Once we have you addressing the ball in line with correct grip we will start to strip away your bad tendencies in your swing. Take away, how and where rotation should occur and the correct order. We will film these portions so you can see what I see. At this point we will have you knowing what is correct up to the strike.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonMy first lesson with an advanced player always begins with an interview and me watching you hit balls. What you think is wrong and what I see may not match up. We will record your un-tweaked swing before I lay my hands on it. I’ll setup a couple drills for you to take home and do as well as show you their proper use.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11 - on, now that we have you hitting crisp consistent shots we can start to work on the more subtle parts of your game. 50 in to pin- reading greens- generating more club head speed- course management- bunker play- different type shot shapes from different lies. The list goes on.
Lesson 4-10At lesson 4-5 I will ask you some questions on how you think we have progressed and what you would like to work on. Your feedback is crucial. We have to have open honest discussions. I’m going to tell you if you need to change something.. don’t be afraid to tell me you want me to address something else. We will talk about it. It’s your time.. usually the student knows exactly where they want to work next. And so will I. It’s a case by case basis after the most pressing issue is resolved
Lesson 2-3The second lesson begins with you telling me if and how much you practiced the drills and me finding out if you need a bit more time or if you conquered that particular error. I’ll record your swing and we will dissect the good and the bad( we will do this almost every lesson) as we move through the next few sessions we will strip away anything that doesn’t simplify and improve your chances of hitting good shots.

Youth players
Working with teenagersMy lessons for teenagers are no different than any others. There are different skill levels in teens. I know a few teenagers who are extremely good. So my adaptation depends entirely on the individual. I have to see what’s happening and how well they are hitting it. Then we can find a start point.

What you need to bringBring a good attitude and be willing to learn. That’s it! Your own clubs would be needed. But not required. I will provide until you have your own!

What I can bringI have access to and own simulator tech. Anything you don’t have please let me know. I have it for you to use; clubs; training aids; or anything we will need.

I was not expecting to ever take a golf lesson. My friend recommended I go see Mr. Layton so I contacted him for a 1 lesson trial. Next thing I know I’m 10 lessons in and loved fixing what I couldn’t. It was actually fun! I was ready to quit golf. That’s never happening now.

Brad has an extraordinarily simple way of breaking down a persons swing so they can pinpoint the errors. I am from Georgia and played golf all my life. I always had some trouble with consistent contact. Brad watched me for about 5 min and before I knew it he’d fixed a problem that wasn’t even on my radar. I couldn’t believe the simple grip and setup changes could change my ball striking. I actually met Brad at a tournament which he destroyed the competition. Everyone wanted to know who he was ! So I found out and we’ve been friends ever since.

I am a 40 yr old beginner that was horrible. I’ve known Brad my whole life so I hired him to show the old dog some new tricks. He far exceeded what I expected to accomplish in 6 lessons. I have turned into a fair golfer by taking the stuff he showed me onto the course. Thank old buddy

I am a high school golfer that just received a scholarship to play in the ncaa. I hadn’t found anyone that could teach me anything in a long time. Mr. Layton saw things I’d never considered and I’m a decent golfer. By the fourth lesson together we had totally improved my ball strike. I couldn’t believe it was so simple. Thank again Mr. Layton

I play for Westbrook high school. I was having trouble with my driver losing balls to the left off the tee. It took Brad 30 seconds to spot the issue. I can’t tell you how much you’ve chosen have chosen the right guy. He’s as good a person as he is a golfer. He even checks in on me from time to time. I appreciate that.
