About your golf coach

Benjamin Tibbs is a results-driven golf coach with over 25 years of experience in the game, dedicated to helping golfers unlock real, lasting improvement while keeping the game enjoyable and sustainable. With a foundation rooted in Junior PGA competition, Benjamin brings both the mindset of a player and the precision of a coach—understanding not only what to change, but how to build the confidence to execute it under pressure. Benjamin coached at GOLFTEC (Irvine, CA), where his instruction emphasized measurable improvement through modern golf performance systems—combining structured lesson plans with technology-supported feedback such as high-speed video analysis, 3D motion capture, and launch monitor ball-flight data. This data-driven approach helps golfers move beyond guesswork, turning “feel” into “real” and creating a clear roadmap for progress. In addition to his coaching background, Benjamin is a certified Stack & Tilt Network instructor, trained in a complete swing system designed around consistent fundamentals and a shared language between golfer and coach. Stack & Tilt focuses on building predictable contact, controlling low point, and creating a repeatable motion that holds up across clubs and playing conditions—making it especially effective for golfers who want consistency rather than “quick fixes.” Benjamin’s coaching style is direct, structured, and highly personalized. Every student receives a roadmap tailored to their body type, athletic profile, and goals—whether the focus is breaking 100, building a reliable draw, increasing driver distance, sharpening wedge play, or lowering handicap through better ball striking. At the core of Benjamin’s philosophy is a simple belief: great golf is built, not found. He specializes in helping golfers replace inconsistency with clarity—so they leave each session knowing exactly what to practice, why it matters, and how it translates to the course.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to share my enthusiastic recommendation for my much-appreciated Golf Instructor, Ben Tibbs. Since embarking on this golfing journey at GolfTEC Irvine, under Ben's tutelage, on June 16, 2021, I have seen remarkable progress in my game, thanks to his exceptional teaching skills, unwavering dedication, and personalized approach to instruction. Ben creates a supportive environment that has been instrumental in my growth as a golfer. What sets Ben apart is not only his profound knowledge of the game but also his innate ability to tailor his teachings to my physical capabilities and learning style. His expertise in dissecting the complexities of golf and simplifying them into actionable steps has been transformative for my game. I am constantly in awe of his knack for pinpointing the root cause of my challenges and providing clear, concise solutions that yield good results. Ben's calm demeanor and soft-spoken nature have been a source of comfort during moments of frustration or self-doubt while learning golf. His ability to maintain composure and instill confidence in me, even when my shots are not going as planned, is a testament to his professionalism and dedication to his teaching craft. Moreover, Ben's communication skills are second to none. His explanations are not only clear and concise but also engaging and easy to understand. He has a remarkable talent for breaking down complex concepts into digestible nuggets of wisdom, making each lesson with him a valuable learning experience. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse Ben Tibbs as a Golf Instructor of the highest caliber. His passion for the game, unwavering commitment to his students' success, and exceptional teaching abilities make him a true asset to the golfing community. I am immensely grateful for the positive impact he has had on my golf game and look forward to continuing my journey under his expert guidance. Ben Tibbs is an exceptionally fine Golf Instructor.

I signed up with Ben at Golftec in Irvine about 6 months ago. My main goal was to just be able to make consistent, solid contact every time. As a weekend warrior, I was lucky if I broke 115 and my good shots were few and far between (I could literally count them on one hand). But after working with Ben, my game has completely transformed. Now, I can count my missed shots on one hand. And the great part is a missed shot doesn’t end up with me heading to the cart for another ball. Ben’s ability to break down complex movements into simple, mental/visual cues has been the key to helping me make the right corrections. He has helped me improve my technique, build confidence, and develop a consistent swing. Along with lessons, you have to practice, practice, practice and play as much as possible. The last couple of rounds I recently played were incredible! I had a few birdie attempts (still need to work on my putting) and many of the holes I was on putting for par. Huge improvement! Thanks to Ben & Golftec, I have confidence on the tee box and my scores are going in the right direction. More importantly, I'm enjoying the game. If you're looking for a golf coach who can help you greatly improve your game , I would highly recommend a swing evaluation with Ben.

Ben Tibbs is an extraordinary coach, instructor and teacher of the golf swing that fits my capabilities and physical limits. He is patient and gives clear cues with the video, to help me move in the right direction. I get a useful image and feel of what I need to accomplish for improvement of my swing without forced strain or possible injury. I highly recommend Ben and Golftec to all who desire to succeed at this great game. Thank you Ben

I started golfing 6 months ago and had gone through multiple golf instructors from the local golf course at Oak Creek to PGA Superstore and more without able to get concrete feedback and analysis from my lessons. After hearing about Golftec from a friend and reading some reviews, I decided to go in for a swing analysis with Ben Tibbs. I immediately saw the value and benefit of the technology they use showing you not only what you're doing right or wrong but also what the pros are doing right. I immediately signed up for a 6 month lesson plan with Ben. In less than 10 lessons with Ben (one of which was a putting lesson), I have gone from the plagued "out to in" swing path to a consistent and more confident "in to out" swing path; allowing me to finally draw the ball! The biggest benefit above hitting the ball better and farther is having a more effortless and easy on my body swing (and less frustrating). People spend a lot of money on golf equipment but if you really want to play this game long term, invest in a coach. To think even Tiger, Kobe, Jordan, and Serena had coaches at the peak of careers, we can definitely use a coach to accelerate us on the learning curve. I appreciate Golftec because unlike just taking lessons on a range, you have video feedback, and detailed analysis/breakdown of what's working and not working in YOUR own swing. Not to mention it's at a fraction of the price of range instructors. Ben has been an amazing instructor. He's very experienced, knowledgeable, and patient; three traits needed for a great coach. He's very methodical in his approach by teaching you sequentially different ways to feel each aspect (position) of your swing. Don't go in thinking you can "fix" your swing in one day or week because there are a total of 10 positions making up your swing. Ben expertly broke it down so well that I now have a real playable golf swing!

I can't say enough good things about Golftec and Ben Tibbs, my coach. I struggled with golfing for years, constantly topping the ball, shooting all over the place and generally unwilling to go out for a round for fear of completely embarrassing myself. I've been working with Ben since February of this year and have seen a massive improvement in my game. I'm still no scratch golfer, but I feel confident going out on a course and managing my way through. The technology at Golftec helps so much. Taking videos of your swing and slowing it down so you can ACTUALLY see what is happening as you swing the club is incredibly helpful. I've never had lessons that made a difference until now. More than anything, Ben is a great coach who breaks down the swing into components any beginner can understand. Can't recommend him enough!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is focused on building a strong foundation and setting realistic expectations. Golf takes time to learn, so we’ll move at the right pace and focus on lasting fundamentals instead of quick fixes. We’ll discuss your goals, frustrations, current ability, and access to practice. Then we’ll establish the basics—grip, posture, alignment, and simple swing motion—so you understand what you’re doing and why. You’ll leave with 1–2 clear keys and a manageable practice plan.
Lesson 11+After the foundation is built, lessons become more personalized and performance-driven. We’ll keep improving your swing mechanics while focusing on your specific goals—breaking 100/90, playing more consistently, hitting longer, or building a stronger short game. At this stage, improvement still takes time, but it becomes more targeted and more measurable. The focus remains the same: strong fundamentals, a swing you truly understand, and long-term progress you can keep building even outside of lessons.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4–10 are focused on steady, real improvement that lasts. We’ll continue developing a reliable swing while expanding skills across the bag: irons, driver, wedges, chipping, bunker play, and putting. The goal isn’t to chase perfection—it’s to build a swing you understand and can repeat under pressure. You’ll also learn how to practice with purpose, build a pre-shot routine, and begin course strategy so your skills translate from the range to the course.
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2–3 are about strengthening fundamentals and making your motion more repeatable. We’ll continue working at a steady pace, focusing on clean contact and understanding ball flight (why you slice, top, chunk, etc.). This phase is meant to create consistency through strong fundamentals—not rushing ahead. We’ll also start introducing short game basics (chipping and putting), because scoring and confidence improve fastest when the short game improves early.
