About your gardening coach
Manny Barra is a Master Gardener at TeachMe.To and the Community Garden Coordinator for the City of Oakland, where he has worked for nearly 6 years. He holds a BA in Environmental Studies - Outdoor Leadership from Sonoma State University. He is passionate about sustainable gardening, focusing on soil health, aquaponics, and community food systems. Manny also gained experience with Everflux Technologies, a startup turning organic waste into renewable energy and fertilizer. His expertise lies in creating eco-friendly, thriving gardens that inspire and educate. If you asked his neighbors/community what he is known for, it would be his front yard farm.
