Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIt is my first priority to put students at ease and unafraid to make mistakes. I also inquire about students’ goals and interests and include them in planning topics and activities.
Lesson 2-3I always spiral back to what was explored in the previous lesson and continue to build on it. I ask students for feedback regarding their preferences as to methods and strive to implement those that students like best.
Lesson 4-10At this point, students can expect to be able to converse in French on the topics explored in previous lessons.
Lesson 11+Now students’ repertoire of topics they can discuss in French is expanding, and confidence is building.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI evaluate the student’s language facility via oral discussion. I also inquire as to the student’s goals and interests.
Lesson 2-3I would present new material and then give the student a chance to practice it. Finally, I would design an activity in which the student could demonstrate her/his ability to use what has been presented and practiced.
