Your first lessonDuring the first lesson, we will talk about instrument care. We will learn how to make a buzz for brass playing, and we will try to play a 3 note song!
Lesson 11+We will frequently review your favorite songs and find more music to expand your range and abilities.
Lesson 4-10We will explore the music that you enjoy, and we will practice more difficult fundamentals skills.
Lesson 2-3We will review and practice our skills by learning more songs and notes.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWe will discuss goals and aspirations - do you have an audition coming up? Is music school in your future as a college student?
Lesson 11+We will refine fundamental techniques, practice advanced transpositions, and work on standard orchestral and solo literature.
Lesson 4-10We will continue to refine performance techniques through extensive fundamental exercises. We will begin to learn more advanced skills such as transposition.
Lesson 2-3We will practice fundamentals and scales to create consistency. We will discuss practicing techniques to use at home on your own.
Youth players
Working with kidsKids need fun, encouragement, and frequent review of their favorites.
Working with teenagersHelping teens with musicality and simple music theory concepts will help them understand the music they are performing. Short music history lessons help us know “why” we perform the music that we do. Finding those pieces you’re most interested in is my specialty!
