The first lesson is a get-to-know-you session. We will go over player goals, test knowledge of the game, and practice a few skills to see where the student is currently.
These lessons will involve combining individual skills we have practiced into fluid movements. This can be a full 3-step drop, hitch in rhythm, and throw for a QB; releasing and stemming at the shoulder for a WR; or kick-stepping and striking with independent hands for an OL.
After the fundamental skills are addressed and repped to point that they become good habits. Then, we will begin adding new elements of their position to attack defenses and have success. For example, this could be a QB learning when and how to take a "Gift," a WR successfully releasing against press, or an OL developing independent hands.
Improve the foundational skills that either are missing or need tweaking. An example of this is a QB throwing with a quick release, an OL learning how to roll meatballs before striking with the Tip of the Spear and keeping their head out of contact, or a WR learning how to practice catching with their hands instead of their chest. If more skills need to be addressed, we will get the reps in to improve those skills so the players are ready to contribute on the field in some capacity. Mentally, we will be learning more about the game, diagnosing defensive strategies and how to attack them while doing our jobs.

This can be a full 3-step drop and throw a 2-ball with no hitch for a QB; releasing against different press techniques and stemming at the safety's shoulder for a WR; or kick-stepping and striking with a 1-2-3 combo for an OL.
